Ahem. In all seriousness, there are a TON of videos on YT which are so rare or the memories associated with them so intense that the OCD hoarder in me would throw himself off a cliff before I let them go, but the old YT video saving service I used to use has been shut down apparently. Sooo...how do I download a video from youtube?

For the record, I'm in no way asking this to profit or use the videos illegally, and I can practically guarantee that 99.95% will never leave my laptop hard drive. All I want is to preserve them, for history mainly, or memory if nothing else?

Help? Anyone?

I'm still working on seeing if there's a way of getting by country blockages with using it since I'm having a bit of trouble there. I'm wondering if using a VPN would help out, unless the stuff I'm finding is blocked worldwide. It's a damn good downloader for what it's worth though and I'm surprised how quick it is with ripping stuff over an hour.

I think I included a link to one in Captive's thread with a radio station recording from McMurdo dated to the early 80s. It got blocked due to the music, but having a small piece of history like that is cool.

Here's the link if you or anyone wants to try to save it or see how far the blockage goes:
