I have no idea why, but an old commercial popped into my head. I think I saw it as a teen so it would be from the mid 2000s. My guess it’s for insurance but I honestly have no idea.
It starts when a teenaged girl comes home from school. Her mom says to make ends meet she had to get room mates. An attractive young man walks around the corner and a “meet cute” type thing happens. The mom says “that’s your brother’s roommate, yours is in the bathroom”. Then a slobbish middle aged guy walks out of the bathroom, fanning his arms, and announced that the “hallway is closed”.
Any idea where you saw this? country? Before a movie? TV?
I looked into Geico they made about 4 commericals about roomates. None have anything to do with a mother renting out her kids room.
It might be one of the other big insurance companies, since they also tend to have wacky commercials. But the saving money thing specifically reminded me of Geico.
Does Geico respond to contact us forms that relate to their advertisements? If so, I could try contacting them about this
Better yet, is there such thing as a Geico wiki? We could just find a list describing all of their commercials. I mean that's gotta exist right? Edit: geicocarinsurance.fandom.com/wiki/Geico_Wiki
So I've been scouring the Geico wiki and I'm not seeing anything that could be it. Granted, some of them are titled weird and I only started as early as 2005 and worked my way up. Going through this wiki made me realize how crazy Geico's marketing campaign is. Like wow, they had Mrs. Butterworth in a commercial, and Speed Racer?? Dang.
