As a new update or aside, there's a new sub on Saki at /r/SakisanNoBashitsu/ that's more straight forward and less shitposting and memeworthy as the original Saki sub.
I only found out about this one yesterday, but the main discussion there is regarding the recreation and actual efforts to continue searching for it via other rare, obscure, and dark / xxx anime outlets since it could very well exist and the OP on Reddit never gave actual proof that he was the same user on 4chan and many people agree that there's holes in his account as well. Could it still be a hoax, sure. But, could it really be a thing? Probably. The most recent post went up yesterday confirming one of their leads for the search is legitimate, so that's reassuring.
Regardless, I'm still interested in seeing what the final outcome is even if it means we'll be waiting for a while for a faithful recreation.
me too, I honestly think the plot behind saki sanobashi is fantastic and could definitely make a good show, even though I’m in the group that’s leaning more towards the hoax theory. It’s still one of my favorite pieces of possible lost media!

If it doesn't get an animated adaptation, then something live-action oriented would be awesome as well. It sounds like something that would be right up the alley of Sculpting Fragments who did stuff like Difficulty Breathing and The Rope Maiden, and with the right budget he could pull off something awesome since he already has a love for extreme and underground Japanese cinema.
