This was the only episode of this show I ever saw. I don't know what it's called. The main plot of the episode was the older daughter of the family writes letters to a serial killer and thinks he's some cool poet or something, and then goes to meet him, and I think talks through phone and the glass wall type deal, and she gets all creeped out when he talks about celebrating his birthday by putting candles in a person he killed. I saw it in the mid to late 90s or very early 2000s in the USA and was possibly in syndication, possibly African American family?, not certain. Does anyone know this show and episode? I've posted on another site and got tons of answers but non were right, mostly the trope is the ex-con tries to move in, but on this one he stays in jail and just says creepy murder stuff to the teenage daughter. Was really odd and I have been wondering about it for many years. Thanks.
