In Toontown Online, when you wanted to play for the first time back in the day, you would need to install the game.
When installing the game, a Flash video, and MIDI music played (likely ActiveX), while the game was installing. The video in question can be seen here: Toontown Online Newer Installer Movie HD
While this Flash file has been archived for years, the music, not quite so much. While recordings of it exist, no one thought it was worth saving the MIDI file of it.
When the game moved to a Windows Launcher, this MIDI was no longer used, despite the intro video still being used. This was around 2008, or so, if my information is correct.
As a result, the only way for this MIDI file to be saved is if someone installed the game during 2005, through maybe 2008, still had the PC they installed the game on back then, and somehow never cleared their browser cache during that time period.
Seeing how unlikely it was for a fan to have it (trust me, ive asked allot throughout the years on different websites), I thought id try and contact the then only 2 known composers.
I managed to get in touch with them, but they did write, nor have the music I was seeking. Thankfully, however, they did tell me of other people who worked on the game's music (people who previously were not known to work on the music for the game), to which I then proceeded to ask them as well. Out of all of the people who wrote back to me (there are still 2 composers that have not gotten back to me. Those being Bill Brown, and Sean Beeson), they didn't write the song, or have the MIDI file either. I did manage to get some unused tracks though, so, that's pretty cool. (you can read more about that here: Installed to Insane Discoveries )
So, now I come here, with the hopes that someone might possibly have what I seek.
If anyone reading this thinks they have a PC with the installer MIDI possibly on it, search the entire PC using the search function for midi files. *.mid should show all the MIDI files on the computer. Check all that show up, and see what if it is the one.
Thank you all for reading, and I hope this can be found.
