Looks like the video’s already been taken down, which is unfortunate. But I’ve heard that there’s some weird copyright situation going on with the work print which has been sort of a point of conflict with Thomas fans. A LOT of them don’t want this work print copy to be spread around, so I would tread carefully.

Britt Allcroft, one of the main creators of the Thomas TV show and Movie, has been trying to get the director's cut out for years now, and the fact that it's been done illegally makes the whole situation worse not only for Allcroft and the footage holders but for the Thomas community. That's why fans are pissed with it, Also it had been rumoured that it was going to be realeased soon for the franchise's 75th anniversary so now it probably won't, That's the basics of the whole issue.

How can it not? If anything this might drum up more interest and support for a more proper cut.

The proper cut can't be released until the illegal version has been taken down, since it was never meant to be released to the public yet, hence why fans want it and all it's itinerations to be deleted, And even if it brings more attention to the film this first step is the key to the whole issue. I recommend you at least read Britt's statements on facebook or look for other forums for opinions on the whole controversy.
Brit Allcroft said this on Facebook: "To the person who has leaked scenes from my film Thomas and The Magic Railroad. Please take this down now. This action is very hurtful and harmful to my film and all who worked on it and are supporting me now to take action to enable you and everyone else to see the lost scenes that I and many others long to show you. It is harmful to me personally because it is hurting me very much. I have waited 20 years to be able to share these scenes I am personally involved with finding the way to do so - for all the fans, yes of course, but also for me. It broke my heart when they came out of the film and you are not helping me to mend it. Please take it down. This also applies to anyone else who has or is involved with these leaks."[/a]
There is a youtube user named eldomtom2, who leaked a whole bunch of the work prints on youtube. Everyone keeps asking him to take them down, but he refuses. He even wrote in the description of the videos saying that the director's cut "quote" on "quote" doesn't exists, which is completely not true from his point of view. If the director's cut doesn't exists, then how the heck did he get a hold of the work print videos, I'm not trying to be harsh but he's making himself look more bad for not taking them down.
I prefer this version of Thomas and the magic railroad its weird that the special effects are not done but for a rough cut of the film it’s somewhat better than the actual film what we got.
