This is going to sound kind of stupid, but this horse game called BellaSara was shut down recently. The website is still up, but they’ve replaced it with an ad for their new app. The app sucks.
Anyway, BellaSara was a big part of my childhood and I would hate to see it go (also, losing big browser games like that doesn’t really sit right with me). Is there any way to preserve the game? I know that people saved Club Penguin, but BellaSara has gone completely missing from the face of the internet (as far as I know), and I don’t know if it’s possible.
If you guys know anything, have some guidelines for me to follow to get the game back, and/or have nothing else to do, please respond to this thread with your thoughts.
Oh my gosh I remember this site!!! When I was younger I would spend my allowance on packs of cards and scan the codes on them to get horses in the game. This is super depressing to hear, I don’t have any knowledge when it comes to trying to preserve something this massive, but I’ll spread the word around!

Thanks! Glad to know I'm not raving on about some game that nobody knows. I can totally relate to the card thing, but after I found out I could just find them online I rarely bought cards.
Dear Mithra! I remember this game. In fact, I still have all of the cards I got. I didn't knew the game stayed up for so long, or that they even bothered to make an app for that matter. I thought BellaSara died in early 2010's.
Well, I think it was a game based on flash and that's why it got shut down, since Flash is supposed to stop working this year. I know people managed to preserve videos with annotations off of YouTube, so maybe there was a way to preserve the game? I honestly don't know too much about this but I honestly believe someone somewhere maybe has some assets of the game. But we just need to search.

The Flash thing definitely makes a lot of sense (I forgot that was happening... ). I think you're also right in a way that it died a long time ago, but it stayed up for a long time afterwards and their player base was heavily declining until they took it down. I'm definitely going to dedicate more time to searching and seeing if I can find anything. I saw on a Wiki (had no idea BellaSara had a Wiki before this, and it's pretty active for the amount of BellaSara fans I expected) that people had been contacting the game creators about the app, so I might get in touch with them to see what they're doing about the game.
I don't know anything about code so I'm going into this totally blind lol.
On the topic of preserving the game, after reading about one paragraph of a Wiki page about how CP Rewritten was created, there's a total dead end here. It was made before CP shut down. BellaSara's already completely erased (on surface level, anyway)... so where do we find the game (or pieces of it)?
I posted on the BellaSara Wiki to see if anybody wanted to help out, so we'll see what happens!
I was scrolling through DuckDuckGo and found something interesting. No idea how to make that bigger; hopefully you guys can see it lmao. Seemed eerily similar to the former website, so I clicked on the link: www.bellasara.net/win_splash.aspx. (I don't know if I'm allowed to post links, but if I'm not I'll willingly take it down.)
Great. I'm in.
Not.
Great. Anybody know how to fix this? Or dig into the website and find stuff (even if there's nothing to find)? I'm super curious about it even if there's no game to go along with it. Maybe it's just a big scam disguised as the BellaSara website, but it seems worth looking into. It's definitely a start, anyway.
Edit: this search is extremely dry. Go more than two pages into DuckDuckGo and there's no more results... yikes.
Yes I remember this game! I have a tin of cards and I even have the DS game. I'm not much help but I didn't even know it went down.
I always wanted the game when I was in my BellaSara phase loll. Anyway, I didn’t know anything about it shutting down either until I went to check it out a few ago. Based on what I’ve seen, I’m not even sure they warned anyone (though I could be wrong). I guess there aren’t many to be warned, but after seeing how big the BellaSara subreddit is I wonder why there wasn’t at least a bit of an announcement.
Oh my gosh, I remember as a kid figuring out how to cheat the stable. You could change the URL and get a random horse. I had pages upon pages of horses without spending a cent. Sad to see it go, after all those fun times. I think I still have all the numerical codes written down somewhere. ;_;
if you don't have a good sense of humour, you're better off dead! [they/them]
