According to this Fansite (scroll down a little) Nick signed a deal with Fox to produce theatrical movies for Rugrats, Doug, and Ren & Stimpy in 1993. None of these movies were made. I have heard conflicting rumors about whether or not the Rugrats movie was an earlier version of what came out in 1998. I don’t know what Doug and Ren & Stimpy would be about. I guess there’s a small chance that Doug would have been an earlier version Doug’s first movie.
Interesting. Speaking of "Doug," somebody who posted on the Lost_Films subreddit claims there was an unedited intro for the show that was only shown when it premiered in 1991, and was cut down to the one everybody knows today. Here is the thread:

I never heard of that before, but I can totally buy it. There does seem to be a abrupt cut in the opening (when I comes to the visuals, not the song itself). I was never really a Doug fan and I would have been a toddler when the first season originally aired.

Yeah, it does kind of cut rather abruptly. I do wonder whether or not it was like that during the original broadcast of the first episode? I hope somebody uploads a copy of it!!!
