D.A. - Ready 'n' Steady (First/Second Posting of Lyrics)

Made an account for this. From what I can tell, there actually is a cut-off fade out happening. It might not show well since I did it in 2-px-thick lines, but I've marked where I think the fade out starts and ends in black and red resp. and with a white slant to show a rough average of the fade out for the left audio channel. The right audio channel makes me wonder, though, as it seems it doesn't really fade out to the same degree. Presumably it would if we could see the last few seconds.

Update: I extended the length of the fade out. You decide for yourself. I didn't account for any variables and the real fade out could have easily been a curve, but it does seem consistent to me with what I've seen for a linear fade out of about 10 seconds to happen. Additionally, I didn't attempt any noise cancellation, and the dust (at least, what I assume to be dust) picks up in volume during the drop possibly tampering with the results this is wrong, it's consistent, I just wasn't listening closely enough. For all I know given that I'm only working with the untouched YT audio, it could be an even steeper drop that the waveform isn't indicating.

This is all just my opinion and you could easily come up with your own, but it seems likely to me that this is the vestiges of a once-existent end.
Also possibly of note is how the dust/noise also cuts off at the same time as the music. I'm not really intimately knowledgeable about music mastering, especially not late seventies music mastering, but if it were really the end of the song before mixing, I personally would assume that they wouldn't record so close to the end of the tape, nor would they cut at the very same ms they ended at since it would be a good risk that someone screws something up and the take is unusable, or simply the tape is too short while recording and much the same thing happens. And lo and behold, it cuts off at "I'm—". If it really did end right there and this is the original, pre-mastering copy presumably there would be another at least second or two of "silence"—not the actual silence of empty data but ambient noise, the musicians making non-music noise, or static as the producer reaches over to hit the "stop" button.
I have listened to plenty of music from the late 1950s and 1960s, though. While yes, that isn't the same, I would like to point out that '50s/'60s records typically are dustier than those from ca. 1980, and you can still hear a second or two of dust after the records end, so hearing no dust after the end of the record here seems out of place based on that.
Then there's the whole problem of all the tracks cutting out at just about the exact same time. Of course, this could be a modern change, it's impossible for me to know, but the cutoff seems more analog than digital since presumably a digital cut would be more drastic. Although, then again, this could be attributed to such things as simple radio distortion or deliberate choice. After all there are an additional five seconds of empty data, which is unquestionably digital in nature.

and that could debunk this entire thing. Is that 0.0002 db enough to matter? That's up for you to decide. Again keep in mind that compression could play a part in this. This is a YouTube rip of the song and not the source, so it has an extra layer of compression on top of whatever compression it started with.
