Okay I just have to rant about the biggest problem when searching for older media such as live broadcasts and shows. Why don't media companies put an effort into preserving their archives for the public. Ok I get that they want your money for their media but it annoys me how many live broadcasts were shown once on TV and then they are gone forever if you didn't record it on VHS. I mean, it's not like a show where you can continually make money off of syndication. A local news station has their archives digitized by a university near me, every tape from the news station is available for public viewing. More media companies need to do this with these one off programs and bumpers, what not. I mean, if enough people rallied behind advocating for the digitization of archives from big companies you think they'd make a difference? You think they'd at least put stuff on streaming? Or do you just have to become CEO and do it yourself.
