In the 1970s, CBS had a monthly news magazine program (I don't remember the name). Starting with Price's permanent one-hour expansion on November 3, 1975, one special 30-minute edition of the show would air each month to allow time for this program. One such show, episode 2944D, was scheduled to air Thursday, September 14, 1978. However, CBS pre-empted the news show and Price decided to permanently shelve the episode since it wasn't needed. This is one of a very small number of TPIR episodes that never aired at any time.
It is unknown if the contestants that day actually received their prizes. Like 0013D, this episode will probably be almost impossible to find.
