So about 4-5 years ago, there was a deep web conspiracy theory going around on 4Chan. It was known as Erratas. According to the theory, Erratas was a computer system used by big companies for copyright enforcement and employee tracking. The first mention of Erratas on 4Chan came about in 2015, with a post from an Anonymous user saying she was working at a factory and found a tape gun with the word "Erratas" written on it. She asked her co-worker what it meant but he said to throw out the tape gun and never mention the word again. The only thing known about this anonymous user was she was homeless and in a band. Ever since this first post there have been many clues and links as to what Erratas could be.
Since the original post, things that could be linked to Erratas and to each other have emerged, including:
- A band called KFC Murder Chicks (an all female band consisting of homeless women, just like the original anonymous 4Chan user)
- A fellow named Tod Ellsworth
- A Youtube account known as ChronosForLife JurassicPark
- A police sketch of a serial rapist from Hawaii
- The Postal Service
I know this isn't lost media related, but is still an interesting mystery and something to investigate and research. This conspiracy/mystery is very interesting to me and it would be awesome to discuss it, even though the interest for it died out 4 years ago. Is it true? Is it a hoax? Let me know what you think.
