PBS Kids discontinued so many good games! I remember playing Ecohouse and Ecoworld and minigames from Fetch with Ruff Ruffman and none can be played any longer. PBS emailed me saying they will no longer offer these games.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but there are next to no assets actually archived on this Wayback Machine mirror. Also, just to get things out of the way, the CD-ROM does NOT contain the assets for the game, only the software launcher installed on the computer which would connect to the now-dead server via internet to retrieve the assets. This game really is lost media, unless we can contact the developers and/or find assets in cache or something. Maybe that Ben Grimley guy would know something about it, but who knows.
As this is a thing i never heard of, I want to TRY to help with the search. Do you remember if it was flash or html5? I remember the shows Curious George, Dinosaur Train, and Super Why and I would actually watch all 3 of those shows myself. I would also occasionally play the games on the pbs kids website. 2007 or 2008 you said? what i remember of the shows on PBS from that time were Fetch! With Ruff Ruffman(which I do want to re-watch as I would in fact watch the re-runs as I was born in '02), the still good cyberchase in my opinion(I don't know if anyone agrees with me on that opinion lol), and those are the shows i personally remember. Were any games up on PBS Kids Play from any of those shows? Reason I asked about 'flash or html5' is because some games back then were made using html5 I believe as I am able to find games made using html5 first released at html5 games when flash was still active, as I do in fact go back and play games from my youth.

It was definitely Flash. HTML5 never became a big thing until 2015 or so, and it wasn't until 2016 or 2017 when Adobe announced their plans to EOL Flash, which happened on December 31, 2020. As of right now, all the assets for PBS Kids Play are lost media. However, I do have an archived version of the 2008 PBS Kids website on my domain, which you can visit here if you wish. nostalgiakidssites.com/pbskids2008 You'll need Flash and Pale Moon, both listed here. nostalgiakidssites.com/software

Did PBS Kids PLAY run on an external server (like Club Penguin and Miitomo)? If so, I think you will need to get someone to reverse engineer the server files and remake it from scratch
I think it did. I think the only ways are to bring it back are either A. Remake PBS Kids Play! or B. Contact Ben Grimley who might know something about it.
I just made a discord server dedicated to Disney Preschool Time Online, Nick Jr. Boost and PBS Kids Play! discord.gg/pN2QNq3wBq join here and we might be able to bring one of the games back.
