Thanks for the reply, nostalgiaguy. Glad someone does remember it, even if "vaguely."

It's hard to know how to find the right word for u-tube searches, although I have found
some real good 'uns such as the VD is for Everyone all time favorite, and the now abandoned national 55 MPH highway speed limit to save fuel, but which accoding to the commercial also saved lives, as many lives as the poopulation of the town of Granelle, Iowa.

Those are called "public service" commercials, and are some of my favorites, although I also very much like the Almond Joy/Mounds commmercials, with the song "sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't."
