Tanki Online 2.0 was a 2011 demo for an upcoming replacement for Tanki Online, that while it didn't come to fruition in that form, features of the new version were added into Tanki Online and eventually Tanki X, a non-browser game, was developed based on what Tanki 2.0 was. web.archive.org/web/20110817062354/http://alternativaplatform.com/en/demos/arena Both demos for crash and arena appear to no longer be avaliable on here, but if I remember correctly you had to log in to access them anyways, so it's unlikely they could be fully accessed this way.
I played this demo when it came out all those years ago, and was shocked at how much better it looked than tanki online.
Image on the left is what Tanki Online looked like even at the time, eventually it was changed to how it looks in the right, but even then it's a downgrade compared to the old demo. Tanki X, on the other hand, accomplishes what the demo sought out to do graphically, but is no longer in-browser.
