Recently, the Youtube channel Barely Sociable uploaded a video about a mysterious phone message if you called 1-800-Golf-Tip. Some people remember hearing a mysterious recording back in the 90's, when they dialed the number. Now, the number has since been bought out and is now a sex hotline. According to reports from people who claimed to have called the number, they heard about this number by word of mouth or saw a billboard for it. Upon calling this number, they reported hearing a man's voice, with an Indian or Arabic accent, counting from 1 to 10. This went on as a loop, but some people remember hearing a loud screech if they were on the call long enough.
A few theories have came about as to what this number is, such as it being a placeholder recording for the number but never replaced. The most plausible theory is that it's a telemarketing gimmick leading people to call the number, and telemarketers receiving their numbers. No one knows the truth for sure.
