Oh good lord I wasn’t aware this thread was four years old when I was thinking of responding to it.
Well... I still want to give some advice to anyone who’s interested in searching for lost media.
I don’t really have a particular website I use to search for lost media. NicoNico is good for Japanese pieces of media, though. I know of a few search tools that makes searching for lost media related topics on the internet easier.
Let’s use My Special Book as an example. Googling My Special Book is going to give you some pretty good results, but what if we wanted to be REALLY specific?
If you put whatever you’re searching for in quotation marks, it’ll give you the exact phrase, word for word, on Google. This is extremely helpful if you’re looking for a specific sentence, or for a piece of lost media with a pretty vague name.
We can get even more specific, however. Let’s say you want to search through only one site. You can use the command site:”insert site here” as an example. This will ONLY show you results from that website.
So, if someone was to look up “My Special Book” site:youtube.com, you would only get results from YouTube with videos containing the exact phrase “My Special Book”
I’ve been using this for a few years now, and I’ve had some pretty good success. I hope this is able to help other lost media contributors!

i didnt think the quotations would help me find certain lost media i was looking for. ive mostly been using sites like google and search engines like duckduck go and yandex to find what im looking for. thanks for the advice
Honestly, yandex is a really good site to use if you use the actual russian version. You can use some search tools on there to make it easier too. Search tools are definitely useful no matter the search engine. There's also multiple alternatives to niconico such as Youku.
