Hey guys, this is my last LMW forum thread until school starts and possibly when I have more ideas for things, so I decided to do a thread on a piece of history. Back in 2013, Rami Sebei (aka El Generico, future Sami Zayn) had signed with the WWE. He made his (house show) debut on an unknown date wearing red trunks over black trunks, the famous red elbow pads that he wore to the the ring until 2015, and no mask, which caused there to be a bit of a controversy between the fans who liked the El Generico gimmick (which was basically a luchador gimmick) and WWE's decision to unmask him. Now, I was looking for this particular match, as it was a tag team match between him and fellow at the time former indie wrestler Chris Hero (who was there as Kassius Ohno) taking on Luke Harper and Erick Rowan in the FCW Arena (which makes this match more rare because the FCW Arena has since shut down) and I found some images from this website here (http://www.dailywrestlingnews.com/wp-content/gallery/el-generico-maskless-at-nxt/) but no footage of the match seems to have existed.. but there is footage of this same match taking place at other arenas.
I remember him signing with the WWE in January of 2013, and I checked some articles from that year. It seems some videos of him down in developmental (below FCW) exist and occurred Febuary 13th. he was still El Generico. Videos of him unmasking start in March, so the debut you are speaking of probably happened around then.
WWE record a lot of house shows for their internal records, their massive media library, and to support future productions. A single camera may have been rolling, but certainly any footage of this wouldn't surface unless he ended up having some sort of WWE documentary or other feature on the network, in which case glimpses of this debut might appear.

Sami right now does have a lot going for him on the main roster. I wouldn't be surprised if they do make a tiny documentary for him on the network, like they did with the Uso's before Wrestlemania 31 (I think that was the event), or Daniel Bryan when he won the belt at Wrestlemania 30. If they do, we'll probably see tiny bits of this footage.

In recent years they've really to use footage of the development leagues a lot more in their documentaries, so I think this is possible. I doubt the full match will ever appear, though, especially if it was only shot on one camera (as is likely if they're not producing for TV).
