In case you don’t know, WorldNetDaily is, rather bluntly, an American online tabloid with a far-right slant. All you’d really need to know about them is that they were responsible for the “Where’s the birth certificate” meme that was popular a while back. While researching on them, I found that they produced a couple of original web shows, most of them talk or current events related. One of these original web shows was a scripted drama called “Red Elephants Café.”
From what I’m able to gather online, the show is set in a town called “Liberty” (subtle, I know) and the characters possibly convene at the titular location. The series is apparently blatant Tea Party propaganda, with the enemies of the series being “the big government.” The director of the series was Concerned Oregonians President Craig Myers.
I remember the idea kinda stuck with me for some reason. I guess the premise sounded okay enough as a show that could actually exist on TV or whatever. So one day, I tried to go looking for it, mostly just to see how bad it was.
I tried looking at WND’s YouTube page, but absolutely nothing came up related to my search. So, I figured it might be on their website, which is technically right: the pages with all seven episodes were there, plus a trailer, and some information about the show. However, the problem with WorldNetDaily is that it is absolutely broken. Seriously, I’ve seen early GeoCities pages that look better than it. I would strongly recommend using AdBlocker if you decide to visit it.
As a result (for me), the media player is stuck playing Wibbitz videos, basically stereotypical “news” pieces you see on Facebook or NowThis. So, this series might be entirely lost because the website hosting it is so damn broken and ad-filled that nobody can access it.
rationalwiki.org/wiki/WND#Red_Elephant.27s_Cafe - RationalWiki article where I found this series. Segment is very brief and has no sources or citations, which kind of got me into starting my whole investigation.
www.wnd.com/author/craig8668/ - Home of the (missing) show. WARNING: I would strongly recommend against entering without AdBlock or any other software that disables popups. It feels like a site you’d get a virus from. You have been warned.
