This is obviously a question for the admins to decide, but it's been bothering me, and I want to hear other people's opinions on it. There are a lot of articles that detail media that was lost at one point, but was found before the founding of the LMW. Does this even count as lost media, and does it belong on this wiki? Some of the media detailed was even found over a decade ago, such as this film: lostmediawiki.com/Wake_in_Fright_(found_Australian_film;_1971) It just seems to me like listing media that has long been found serves no purpose.

I know there has been a bit of lost Nick (which IMO is LMW's go-to) before the LMW. Like bumpers and the Jimmy Neutron (Not the Johnny Quasar) pilot was lost for a bit until it was released with a DVD of the series. I also think some Pinwheel was found before then also.

I just don't see any point in listing media that technically isn't even lost, though I guess the same argument could be said about media found post-LMW founding.

The way I see it, a previously found piece of media should only be submitted if:
1: it had been 'lost' for a decent amount of time; 2: it was relevant back when it was 'lost' (ie people cared about it before it was 'found').
Even less tolerance for media 'found' through official releases. If it's something like that Jimmy Neutron pilot that was released only a few years after its production, it's a big NO.

But that's just my two cents.
Agreed. I'm talking about stuff like original cuts of The Passion of Joan of Arc and Metropolis that were missing for decades.
Yes, it counts, but it's done on a case by case basis and has to have been known about and considered lost for a significant period of time.
New articles for pieces of media that have already been found are allowed on a case-by-case basis, as the media in question must have been known about and considered lost for a significant period of time before it was found; if unsure of a potential article's eligibility, please contact a staff member.
