I thought this might be of interest but back in 1990s, aboth Henry Rollins & RuPaul recorded a studio cover of Lipps Inc's Funky Town which is presumably for a one-hit wonders compilation from Elektra Records but it's left unreleased in full to this day.
However, there are two excerpts of this, one found in Lipps Inc's Soundcloud page and one that Henry himself played during his DJ Set on KCRW’s Halloween Masquerade back in 2010. I don't know why this is left unreleased but do wish to hear the complete version someday so who knows.
