Extended "Monsters Inc" Ending

As a huge fan of the movie (it's my number one favorite movie of all time), I don't remember there being an extended ending of the movie. All the times I've seen the movie (whether on TV or DVD) ends the same way with a shot of Sulley being surprised and happy to see Boo again after his best friend Mike Wazowski repairs her door before fading to black. I thought it was an effective way to end the movie while leaving it to the viewer's imagination on what Sulley does next (and without padding the movie's running time).

That said, I never heard of there being an extended ending to the movie (though I mostly bet it was based on false memory or originated from a fan fic not meant to be taken as canon), so I don't know if the claim is true. Though I might be wrong and this claimed "extended ending" described here may have actually originated in one of the film's tie-in books (either ones that follow the movie's plot or takes place after the movie). 

I have the special edition DVD with the second disk full of bonus features, I’ll check on there among the deleted scenes but I doubt I’ll find anything.
