I'd taken French for a few years and for one of my favorite shows I prefer the French dub, so what I'll do to keep up my skills is the first time I watch the episode I have subtitles, but after that I don't have them because I know what's going on and can understand what they're saying more easily.
Never watched it in the original French, other than the theme song.
I prefer the French, but that might be because I pick up on the differences. Also, Netflix's subtitles for the French dub are just the subtitles for the English dub, so there's no way to tell the difference if you're watching it there. It's still a good English dub (it was meant to be dubbed into multiple languages after all), but some of it is just a tad more corny.
