One film I've recently became interested in is the Dream Woman, for two reasons, one the story line is... unusual, two the only evidence I can find of it existing is the imdb page and a recreation in the Forbidden Room (there's no page on wikipedia, tvtropes or even the lost media wiki. It think it's interesting, anyone have more information.
This is an interesting one. Hundreds of sources across the globe and in multiple languages seem to report the existence of this media- so I guess the Thought hasn't been lost. However, I'm also not finding any actual media for it. I did manage to get this clipping from Newspapers.com, printed on May 8th 1914. It does speak briefly about the film- this tells me that the film was shown to audiences and not just never released. www.newspapers.com/clip/3716348/the_dream_woman/
This doesn't have much to do with The Dream Woman, but there also appears to be a film called NAIDRA, THE DREAM WOMAN released the same year. Kind of strange. It seems that the Dream Woman was based off the novel of the same name by Wilkie Collins. I can't seem to find any physical releases of this film, though. A lot of that Solax Studios stuff seems to be neglected. Interesting stuff.
