I'm not so sure what section this should go in, but I've speculated that there might be a pilot for the Super Mario Bros. Super Show, because this and Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog were produced by DiC, and AOSTH had a pilot. I want to know if a pilot for the Mario show maybe exists...
Do you mean a development pilot or an aired pilot? A development pilot is shown to executives to see if they like the show and can have a different art style to the final. An example of this is the Gravity Falls Pilot. The aired pilot is the first episode of a show that airs, meant to gauge audience interest. The latter is generally easier to find than the former.
(You should probably re-post the research you talked about on Discord.)

Oh yeah, someone on Discord emailed the VA who played Princess Toadstool. Waiting for a response. Still looking for evidence atm but can't do it with only two people.

The animation in the shows intro seems quite different from what it normally looks like. Either it was just more expensive, made early in production, or has something to do with this alleged pilot
"oooh, you're a- a freaked out child in the woods..."
Wait, theres two intros for the show, for the live-action version and the one for the animated sections. Which one are you talking about, crumbelievable?

Usually animated series recycle clips from their first episodes for the intro. Brandy & Mr. Whiskers comes to mind, where roughly half of its intro is comprised of clips from the first episode, both segments; the rest comes from random early segments of the 1st season. However, the first eight seconds or so, as far as I know, is unique animation made for the intro and compared to the animation in the episodes it looks more fluid and I believe the waterfall is CGI, which is rarely ever used throughout the series, though I can't confirm that. AoStH is the only series I can think of that used an unaired pilot episode for, in this case, the outro, whereas the intro has unique animation meant for it. There's also Battletoads on reusing clips of the pilot episode for the intro, but that one doesn't count.
Super Show's intros, both main and cartoon, definitely have higher quality animation than the show itself, so the idea of it being taken from an unaired pilot seems plausible, however there are some shots on both clips where the animation clearly looks cheaper; this leads to two possibilities: either the pilot did happen and clips of it were reused for both intros and added new ones so that the intros look cohesive, or the animation was done solely for the intro to give a good first impression to audiences but it went overbudget and resorted on the actual animation studio that worked on the episodes to finish it up. Granted, I rarely saw Super Show's cartoon segments, myself, so I can't tell if there are any episodes which animation matches that of both intros.
It's too bad noone cares about this show enough to see if a pilot exists. But who knows, I might just be leading into a wall.
The YouTube Poop community still cares. Or at least the people who were part of the community between 2007 and 2013-ish. Being a former member of the community I'd love to see if it actually happened. Seeing actual footage of King Koopa's Kool Kartoons after hearing about it many years ago is quite the surprise. When I started making YTPs was around the time the AoStH pilot was found, nearly 10 years ago.
Also, shouldn't we have a forum section dedicated to speculative lost media? I would be best having that forum section and move this thread alongside others such as the Astrology with Squidward thread there.

Yeah you're right. I wanna start a search for it but not much people care about it NOWADAYS.
It's fairly typical for an animated show of that era's intro, at least the non-recycled shots, to have higher-quality animation. Ed, Edd n Eddy, Pokémon, and DuckTales are all good examples of this. Computer animation techniques, like Flash, 3D CGI and digital ink and paint seem to have made this a thing of the past for the most part, though.

You don't need a lot of people to care to start a search. We should probably contact other people involved with the show, like voice actors and animators.
