Hello, LMW! I'm from tvtropes.org, where I heard about your efforts to recover lost pieces of media. That's great, because Isaac Asimov was so prolific, even losing 1% of his published works means dozens of stories may be hidden away in someone's basement. I think the percentage is slightly more than that, though.
For example, "Someday" a short story about a robot storyteller, was adapted by a magazine called Playsinto a one-act story for schools to perform. Despite extensive searching, I haven't been able to find any copies of this uploaded to the internet, even on archive.org, which is otherwise a treasure trove of old works. I contacted them earlier this year, and they admit to not being able to publish it online because they only purchased the right to publish the play once.
I felt their email was unclear if they still had access to the play, but they didn't seem inclined to share it when asked (wanting to remain on the right side of copyright law is understandable). Does anyone here think they have a stack of old Plays magazines?
Another work that I'm digging around for, does anyone know where to find copies of the magazine American Way that contain copies of Dr Asimov's essays? I'd especially like to find copies of the November 1981 and October 1985 issues.
