When I was younger, I used to frequent RetroJunk a lot, and one of the things I recall reading on there was an article about what logos people were scared of. On one page, the user Strandysmommy talks about a special kind of EBS test used by children's radio station Radio AAHS:
The only kudos for any EBS related thing I have goes to Radio AHHS, because it was a children's station. They had GROVER, as in GROVER your cute furry little pal from Sesame Street, reading the thing. I guess Cookie Monster would have been one push over the edge?
On this one children's radio station they had here in MN it was GROVER who said the whole "this is a test..." it made it a little more tolerable. They still do the old tone, but it's sandwiched in with the AEEEK AEEEEK AEEEK which sounds oddly like my cat squawking...the last 3...squawks do any way.
Does anyone else remember this EAS? I never heard it myself, and after looking it up, it doesn't seem to be online either. This sounds like a very unique test, and I'd love to hear it if anyone can find it!
No. NJN is the PBS affiliate for New Jersey that also happens to have a radio station, WNJN. They must have accidentally played audio from NJN's TV feed, which was showing a Sesame Street episode, on their radio service by accident. What we're looking for is an EBS test where Grover says the "For the next 60 seconds, this station will conduct a test..." thing instead of a normal announcer. If the musical EBS tests were found, maybe this will resurface.
