Yet another Oswald cartoon was found, this time by an anime historian who had a reel of the short in its posession for seventy years, mistakenly labeled as a Mickey Mouse cartoon.
This is cool and heartwarming news of another thought-to-be lost Disney-era Oswald the Lucky Rabbit short being found, especially since the person who found it (i.e. Yasushi Watanabe) is a long-time fan of Disney and he now gets to be a part of history in finding the lost Disney-era Oswald shorts. Though it's said that two minutes of the five minute short were cut off in Watanabe's copy, it's still better than nothing.
I hope the short gets made available for public viewing soon.
Despite the frustrations of normal day life we go through, the best thing to do about it is still being happy for our friends and family.
My wish is that considering the short's age it would fall into the public domain, but this is Disney we're talking about, and those are two words that the company hates with a passion. It will end up shoved in a random Blu-Ray release like Poor Papa.
