Hello, I recently came onto this wiki to share an odd find I've come across at a local cassette store near my house. I bought a random cassette as I usually do, as this one looked home recorded which I found interesting. As I looked more at it though, it became apparent this just some copy.
So it came from a series. Specifically, the Mississippi Tape Series. This is volume 33 and is summarized as "A truly random mix about my feelings..."
The tape is also a bit on the plain side.
So I was looking through the list of songs written on the back of the tape cover, and the first one was entitled "Unknown - That Crazy Candy Bar, That Lead Me to Jail".
(Look to the top song.) This implied the artist of this track was not known by whoever produced this tape.
There's also more writing on this back cover, stating the people who produced this tape are trying to find out anything they can about the artist who wrote That Crazy Candy Bar. (Sorry for the crappy red circle I drew.) They also knew where it was recorded I guess.
Ever since I got this tape, which was a few months ago, I've been asking myself some questions. Did they ever find out who wrote the song? Who actually wrote it?
I did listen to the song in question a couple times over. It's nothing special, some old Spanish diddy. Starts with something about children in boarding schools. I may record it if necessary.
I decided to look the single song up online, to find absolutely nothing. So then I looked up the tape. I could only find it on Discogs.
I found the song list here as well, but the artist of That Crazy Candy Bar was still unknown. Probably due to the lack of interest in this tape.
So it's had at least one mention on this internet (barely) that I know of.
This is probably not important enough to warrant anything but if anyone knows anything I can rest in peace knowing who created the song. I don't think anyone will know anything, but it's a fun little mystery I've made for myself. Thanks if you've read this through
