Hi. I'm looking for some YouTube videos from my childhood that were called "My First Pokemon Hack." My friends and I laughed our asses off the first time we watched them, probably sometime from 2008~2012.
Before you ask, no they are not the Pokemon Emerald videos with that exact title that appear when you search YouTube for "My First Pokemon Hack." Also, I don't remember the uploader's username.
The videos were a humorous set of videos showcasing a "hack" of Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green that eventually became a fairly sizable series. (I'm pretty sure there were six or more episodes, and I'm damn sure there were at least four). What made these videos memorable was they're sense of humor, as well as continuity. The series followed Red, a sarcastic smartass going on his Pokemon journey. Pokemon could all talk, and the series often included edited maps and events that never happened in the actual game.
Here is what I can remember of the first episode:
We open with a message from the creator saying that he finally got his hacking tools working, and this is what he made. The message is just text on a blank background.
I THINK there was an introduction parody, but I can't remember well enough to say anything concrete.
I do however remember that the fat NPC in Pallet Town says that he thinks he ate his cat.
After looking getting the starter red looks at the machine in Oak's lab that wasn't in the original. Red says: "This machine... it's making something illegal."
During the Rival fight, Red will sarcastically remark on Oak's tutorial "To win, bring your opponent's HP down to 0!" Red: "No duh!"
I can't remember much of what happens in between, but eventually Red makes it to Viridian Forest, which now covered in water and has the heavy rain effect. Here he battles Lugia.
Here are a couple things I can remember from later episodes:
In Vermilion city, when speaking to the girl who gives you the versus seeker.
Girl: The urge to battle with someone you've tangled with before. Have you ever had that urge?"
Red: "Are you hitting on me?"
The S.S. Anne Episode was a lot different from the earlier episodes and had creator commentary via annotations. For example, when a giant custom Pikachu sprite was used, the creator wrote "This sprite was never good." Or when the girl trainer said "Guy's instinct? Who do you think you are, Johnny Bravo!?" The creator wrote, "Loved that show!"
Anyway, that's pretty much all I can remember. Maybe it's silly to be looking for some old YouTube videos that are probably lost forever, but I really enjoyed them back in the day, and I truly hope they aren't Lost Media. If anybody can help me find them, it'd be muchly appreciated.
