Friends is a popular sitcom. Or at least it was. So how is it possible that there is nearly no lost media from it. There have to be more things. Every popular TV show has lots of lost media like deleted scenes, episodes that were scrapped in their early stages etc. I know that there are deleted scenes included on the DVD release, but what if there are more hidden from the public. There have to be some scrapped episodes, the only things I could find are an episode where Chandler goes to a gay bar and another episode which was never aired because of 9/11 or something like that. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.
I'm guessing that there is no known lost media from the show itself that the public is aware of. I'm pretty sure the whole series for the episodes that did air has been released on DVD and for streaming platforms.
But if there is any known lost media from the show, then it would be documented online and has to be verified by the show's producers and cast. So far, I have not heard anything from the show that could be called "lost".
Despite the frustrations of normal day life we go through, the best thing to do about it is still being happy for our friends and family.
This raises a question of what is considered lost media. For example, Seinfeld has a trove of deleted scenes content that someone uploaded, but restricted the videos so you can only view them if you have the link. Would those be considered lost or found? I think they would be considered found. Friends from what I remember also had quite a good team working on it, and they made sure to release everything they shot, especially for the DVD releases.
