so, just about a half hour ago,i was banned from the lmw discord channel, for trying to defend a site i have a history with. this site is known as 4chan. i have been browsing this site since October 12th 2012, and over the last near 6 years i've been on it, I've come to let my nostalgia for it bias and filter out the bad posts from the good. while i admit that 4chan is notorious for various hate crimes, i personally do not identify with ANY viewpoints shared by the posters who make those kinds of posts. one thing that a newcomer to that site has to understand, is that it is a very open community for people from all walks of life, 9 times out of ten you're not going to find a lot of friends in the first couple months you're there. which leads me to my next point, 4chan is not at ALL like this site, it has a very large population of posters from all kinds of countries and is not as "close knitted" as a presumably small community forum such as yourself. the site is actually completely anonymous, with very lax banning procedures, the users usually do a better job of policing their respective boards than the mods do themselves. there also is a sense of needing to find your own way and learn the site for yourself when it comes to 4chan, you very likely will receive harsh insults and rude comments in your first couple months as you learn the way of the various boards. and yes while it is notorious for its shock value, there exists many ways to filter out such things with various third party extensions, or if you're feeling brave enough, you can endure them until you become desensitized from them. since users on 4chan can stay completely anonymous, it leads to all kinds of trouble for both the more well behaved/tenured userbase and moderators/janitors/admins.
for anyone who still does believe my claims about my views on hate crimes, i encourage you to meet my Friends over at the various tulpa community discords to confirm, of which i also have a long history with.
