How to make articles?

last time i tried to make some i screwed up the formatting and a super helpful contributor had to fix them for me, i know alot about a bunch of lost media that don't have articles yet and i seem to write fine but i have trouble with the instructions on putting in pictures/links/formatting in general
if someone could give me a more straightforward instructions on this it would help alot, thanks!
