Tales from the crypt Dead Easy/Fat Tuesday

So recently I binged watched the tales from the crypt series and finished off with the movies. It came to my attention that the film series was intended to be a trilogy. Though they did end up making a trio of movies, there was one promised with the release of the first film Demon Knight. During the theatrical release of Demon Knight the after credit scene had the crypt keeper promise for bloodshed and mayhem in Tales from the Crypt: Dead Easy. There’s a lot of mention of the film in magazines. There’s also material meant for the film that was never used. Lastly there are rumors that the film was completed but was shelved because it was a New Orleans voodoo story that required an all black cast but was whitewashed by executive meddling. Does anyone else have more info on the film or it’s history?
