catching a glimpse of adult swim's content every now and then. i dont know why but i find enjoyable to do that even if i get caught or dont watch the full episodes, for that i knew shows like China, IL, superjail, the eric andre show, family guy, and american guy as well as toonami with shows like bleach and fullmetal alchemist.
I've commented before on the decline of traditional Saturday morning blocks and blocks like Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, but the same applies here. Recently had Adult Swim on randomly while I was studying and like...watching it on TV vs streaming is such a different feel. A kind of nice feel, even if traditional cable is dying. Streaming isn't a bad thing-convenience is nice, the ability to skip ads, and what not. But the block itself is an EXPERIENCE and much like CN as a whole, Adult Swim was willing to take a LOT of risks other channels wouldn't, whether that was the programming, weird commercials, in-universe ads, April Fools day pranks, or unique bumpers.
Also, for my own nostalgia, weirdly enough, those DVD/VHS commercial reels that would play before the actual movie. I used to just watch those for fun sometimes!
LOL I remember seeing this commercial before the Paranorman DVD.
Colored VHS tapes. I'd always know what I was about to watch based off the VHS color. White=Barney Yellow= Bob the Builder Blue= Blues Clues Green=Veggie Tales and of course the iconic Orange VHS tapes which were Nickelodeon.

it wasn't just kids VHS tapes that were colored, Johnny Mnemonic had a red tape, even some obscure DTV films I saw had colored tapes(like the unrated version of Poisoned Kiss which had a yellow tape)
Wouldn't it have made more sense for Barney to have purple tapes?
I hate to say it but McDonalds. It's the first restaurant I remember going to. There were the iconic Happy Meal Toys and Mascots. Plus the nostalgic design of the old restaurants. I guess the weirdest thing about it is that I didn't like the food as a kid, I think I just liked how colorful the building was and just wanted to run around the play area.

I noticed almost no restaurants around me even have play areas anymore:/ But those were a BIG part of my childhood too, especially the one at Burger King. In the case of Burger King, the Burger King Big Kids Meal is majorly nostalgic and was a fast food staple well into my college years LOL. I don't even know what the BK Kids meals are like anymore, and I don't see too many kids even with them anymore in my area.

They used to be purple but they changed to white for some reason after a while, cost probably.
"oooh, you're a- a freaked out child in the woods..."

The feeling of VHS and older DVDs is nostalgic for me too (even if I wasn't raised on many if any VHS tapes).
I remember getting Bok Choy Boys (marble-like ninja figurines with Japanese and/or Chinese symbols on them) from the bowling alley "gacha machines." I also fondly remember the computer games "Awesome Animated Monster Maker" and "Purble Place," plus that one jumpstart MMO game that used to have crossover content with DreamWorks.
The Zula Patrol was an odd kids' educational show I watched a long time ago on Qubo. I was very little, and my memories of the show had become foggy before I rediscovered the name one night. The next day I witnessed a traumatizing piece of media that I will not mention and wish will someday become forever lost, and my sense of taste and feeling disappeared for a while. Rewatching the show helped me recover from this odd ailment.
McDonald's Yummivore is another one, it was lost for a while before being uploaded on YouTube, haha!
Where do I start? Here are some nostalgia hits for me:
Playing Burnin' Rubber, UN Squadron, Ghouls 'n' Ghosts, Starglider, Strider II, Back to the Future Part II and Gremlins 2: The New Batch among a few other games on Amstrad 6128+
Other PC related nostalgia:
1. Hearing Passport.mid and Canyon.mid 2. Playing the Hover! game that came on CD versions of Windows 95. 3. Seeing this music video for "Good Times" that came with Windows 95
4. Hearing "Beautiful Way" by Midnight Vultures as a short clip came with a version of Windows Media Player and I used to play it over and over. 5. Kung Fu Kim:
5. Playing Deus Ex, Gilbert Goodmate and the Mushroom of Phungoria, Technomage, Star Trek DS9: The Fallen Alpha Demo, Diablo II, Summoner, Technomage, Clive Barkers Undying and this game, Project Undead on PC:
6. Seeing Microsoft Office assistant Clippit (Clippy) that has long since been removed from it.
Also:
1. Pogman Pogs - Loved the artwork on the pogs. 2. Mini Boglins 3. Airfix World War 2 planes. There is a shop in the town where my family lived that has a model shop that has been there for over 30 years. I used to go in there with my mum about once a week in the 90s and get a new model to build. I loved the Airfix World War 2 planes the most, partly for the Airfix box art and I had a Blohm and Voss bv 141, Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane, Bristol Beaufighter, Fairey Battle, Lancaster Bomber, Curtiss Tomahawk, Catalina Flying Boat and also a WW2 battle ship.
4. Getting Japanese Pokemon cards for the first time. In 2000, someone at the school I went to had lots of the Japanese "Pocket Monster" Pokemon cards and I use to trade my English versions to her for them. Had a small collection until I gave them away.
4. Mighty Max toys 5. Goosebumps books with the UK covers 6. Hearing the engine of a light airplane and helicopter. I grew up a few miles from a small airfield and often would see planes and helicopters flying over and began to like every time I heard a plane flying over.
For TV shows it has to be:
Seeing the intro to "Challenge Anneka"
Hearing/Seeing the intro to the long running Irish drama series, Glenroe. My parents watched it and I have always remembered the intro music:
Art Attack:
The Queens Nose:
Revelations: The Initial Journey. I used to love this series and I remember it aired on Channel 5 in the UK before or after "Don't Blame the Koalas" and "Braceface"

I'm a 2000s kid sooo
Sonic 3- the best sonic game ever to me. Also that white alt Kobe Bryant Jersey. Also, Thriller by MJ. I was born in the 2000s but love the 80s and 90s (also Ducktales)
Zarbon, Dodoria, CUT HIS BALLS OFF (in frieza voice)

I vaguely remember Zula Patrol, my younger sib had Qubo on a lot at the time. Did it air much?
