I saw today that your lost video games list didn't include Fleapit.
Fleapit was developped by Zippo Games for Rare's ill-fated Razz Board. It was created by John and Ste Pickford and was going to be released in the early '90s. Developpement for Fleapit sarted in 1989 and was fully playable when it was cancelled after the closing of Zippo Games. The game was going to be published by Rare.
The main character for Fleapit was Plok the Exploding Man, who will later appear in is own game in 1993 for the SNES. He also has a comic strip, starting in 2013 and drawn by Ste Pickford himself.
After its cancellation, Fleapit was reworked into Plok as a SNES game. Plok was released in 1993.
It is not known if Fleapit itself still exist, but some artwork and a mockup title screen for the game were leaked on the Pickford Bros' website.
Nice find! I remember reading an article about the whole developement history of Fleapit/Plok. I don't remember where i found it. Also, Shigeru Miyamoto was going to help develop the game when the project was moved over to the SNES, but he got into another project, which is said to be Yoshi's Island.

Not so long ago, i found out about the possible existence of a VHS tape containing actual gameplay footage. Unfortunately, the tape is also lost. Also, developpement for Fleapit actually started in 1987 and was set for a 1989 release.

Fleapit's original creators, John and Ste Pickford, are actually pretty active on the web and they have a webcomic based on characters from Plok, some of which were set to appear in Fleapit.
John Pickford, who programmed Fleapit, and his Brother Ste, who made the GFX, can be reached here: zee-3.com/z3/contact.php

Gee, didn't update this thing in a while. Can someone track down ex-Zippo and Software Creations employees? I'm pretty sure one of them might have that tape with gameplay footage. I don't think the Pickfords still have it, otherwise they would have posted it on their archive.
Fun Fact: In Fleapit, Plok was originally going to be voiced by the late Chris Sievey AKA Frank Sidebottom. Zippo, the studio making Fleapit, closed before the voices were recorded.

I could poke around.

I'm pretty sure some of the people who worked on SNES Plok and Wizards and Warriors II: IronSword also worked on Fleapit. I think Tim and Geoff Follin might know something too, since they worked on Plok alongside the Pickfords. Same with Lyndon Brooke, who made SNES Plok's GFX from Fleatpit's assets as a base. It also won't hurt to ask the Pickfords, but don't spam anyone though.
