Are there captcha codes in place on the wiki? I've been noticing an upsurge in spam users/pages since the site was revamped, and it could bring down the reputation of the wiki (not to mention it's taking time for the admins to go through the logs and delete them). I'm not so sure if this is possible, but maybe a new system should be put in place to try to control it.

For what it's worth, the site still does have captchas on signup as well as on page creation, to my knowledge the same ones we had before but just updated to newer versions. I don't think the revamp has anything to do with the increase, my guess is they just happened to get smarter around the same time

I’m glad to hear that Dycaite and Anton are going to apply the MediaWiki’s new anti-spam extension as the amount of spambots coming to the wiki to spam external links and post copy/pasted articles from the web are just plain annoying.

I bet the new MediaWiki extension will do the trick.

Despite the frustrations of normal day life we go through, the best thing to do about it is still being happy for our friends and family.
