There are two movies that my mom and I watched on TV about 8 to 11 years ago.
The first one was on Turner Classic Movies. It was an older movie in Black & White. When I walked in the room, there was this blonde kid and this brown haired kid (the latter with glasses) that were in a library. The blonde kid doesn't know the meaning of the word "afraid" or what it is. They go to this presentation with this animatronic dummy or something (I think he looks like the Dance Academy dummy from "The Big Comfy Couch") I can't remember. The blonde kid stays back to see if the dummy is real. The dummy scares the boy, who runs away screaming. While he's running in a wide shot, there is a cat in the foreground. He meets a police officer who he goes for a drive with. He then realizes that he was afraid then, and he and the police officer sing a song excitedly. I'd love to know that this movie is, as it was weird.
The other one is more recent. I think I saw it on W Network or Bravo! or something. It had this little red-headed girl living with two other people who are not her biological parents. I remember the guy in that family had a Professor Snape-like haircut, but maybe a bit longer. The last scene I remember was when the girl's biological father came to visit, and she was really sad to see him go. I also remember seeing her look out the window and wave at him as he gets in the car while instrumental music plays in the background.
