So I was browsing through the files of some old pc game cd's (You know, those that came with nerdy magazines and such) and found a trailer for a game I couldn't get any info about online.I have uploaded the trailer on YouTube (https://youtu.be/0FWT56mzF-g) and I would be really interested into learning more about this game.Any ideas?
This is very interesting. Which game contained this trailer?
I found it on an old game demo cd rom, which contained some utilities, but mostly game demos and their trailers. The cd came with a magazine that was only released in Greece as far as I know ( here is a link to some of their issues www.retrocomputers.gr/collection/retro-magazines-collection/cd-games-play ).I will try to find the exact cd I found this trailer in again and see if there is any more info I can add, like a playable demo possibly.
I found some time to search the cd that contained the trailer for a playable demo of the game, and unfortunately, found nothing of that sort. The only thing that referenced the game was it's trailer.
I have been able to find and get in touch with the founder of Creative Edge Software David Wightman. I have asked him about the game and he has stated the following:
"Hi, Yes this was released in Japan by Imagineer - I can't remember the name it was released under as it was a while ago now (and it was in Japanese). The entire engine was evolved, as was the game rules/art, and it became 'Dark Planet' - this came from the seed of the tech that you see here. Hope this helps."
So it appears that Imagineer has released the game or some form of it under a Japanese title while Creative Edge reworked the tech from Solar into Dark Planet. So far I have been unable to find the Imagineer version or title of it.
