I mentioned this game under unidentified media with the thread "Educational story building games". i am making another thread here because, while the other story building game was found, confirmed to be "Storybook Weaver Delux" the main one was not. the thing about this game is i played it a lot and clearly remember the name. it was called "Story Painter". the game was a windows 95/2000s computer game i played around 2004 - 2005, in which you built a story. you could pick from many many different unique characters, backgrounds, etc each character had a different pose and had its own audio clip. you would put words in and you could read them or have a default voice (Who i believe was British) read them. i am posting this in lost media because despite knowing the title, there is absolutely NO record of said game ever existing. we had the game through a homeschool program i believe it was called LifePac, as we still have boxes and books from Lifepac. however i don't think it was made by LifePac themselves, as there were other games like StorybookWeaver, and Cross Country Trucking that came with the program that they did not make. we only had it and the other games for one year as that's what we signed up for. then we had to send them back however we were able to keep the school books. another thing that is strange though it could be a false memory is i seem to recall the game Story Painter being a "volume 7" meaning there could be a lot more versions of said game. i know this game existed and i am positive it was called Story Painter.. yet i cannot find any record of this game ever existing online..

Story Painter is "interactive educational computer software in the field of elementary education and accompanying student guides sold as a unit". The trademark was first used on February 28 1997. It was registered by Computer Curriculum Corporation and transferred to NCS Pearson, Inc. It appears NCS Pearson, a big textbook publisher, might have purchased Computer Curriculum Corporation.
NCS Pearson had a sub-set called "NCS Learn", under which the program may have been released. Computer Curriculum Corporation still exists.
I found the old CCC website. This image looks promising.
I remember it looking bigger but that's probably just because of how much older i am now lol its been a long time since i seen the game if it was used in 1997 the memory of it being "volume 7" might be true as i played the game in 2004-2005. That's an eight year gap in between when it was made its quite possible that i got an updated version of it copyrighted somewhere 2002 - 2004. However, thats all speculation.
There might be updated versions of Story Painter. The blue text on the gif is "mis sonidos", or "my sounds" in Spanish. There was a Spanish version of Story Painter, but the gif is used on English and Spanish promotional material.
Just did ty:p and as i suspected the reason why proof of this game existing was so hard to find was because it was made specifically for schools. It really annoyed me tbh lol another situation was with cross country trucking, years back we decided to get the game again just for fun and we found out you couldnt edit the routes or make your own destinations only use the preloaded routes. The free route version was only available for schools and we could not get it. I was mad cause half the fun of the game was choosing the place to go. (I mean the thing was basically a map lol)
