Around the early 90’s or so, the American Cancer Society created this PSA about smoking, as part of a Great Smokeout campaign.
Basically, the PSA featured a woman smoking and little by little, she is covered in tar and nicotine until she is completely covered and screams. An announcer then says “If what happened on your inside, happened on your outside, would you still smoke?”
Unfortunately, this PSA was so effectively frightening, that it got pulled off of TV, but a print ad based on this PSA can be seen here: graphicleftovers.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/smoking.tarwoman.jpg
