Now that the finished film has aired, this article needs some updating: lostmediawiki.com/Hey_Arnold!_The_Jungle_Movie_(partially_found_cancelled_original_film_adaptation_of_Nickelodeon_animated_series;_2002)
I think the movie that aired was a different version from the original 2002 movie. The animation looked very different.
The thing about the original 2002 version is that it was never finished, i'm pretty sure the clip online is the only finished clip. pretty sure all that was done other than that was the script and maybe storyboards

Also, they apparently started over, although I'm not sure if that means they started over with the storyboards/animation and kept the script or if they completely started over except for basic plot elements.

Yeah it could be anything at this point. Nickelodeon and the staff kept it under wraps it seems.

Exactly. Although the DVD did release yesterday (Feb 13), so maybe there’s like a making of special feature that can clue us into whether or not the released version evolved from the original as any other movie going through production would evolve.

I have not personally seen the new movie. I tried to when it aired but I was busy with schoolwork. I know the animation was much different based on the commercials and clips I had seen prior to the airing.
I still gotta watch that. Just let me get through the first movie and the finale.
Is the finished movie any good?
I've never watched Hey Arnold at all (I'm actually not super interested in watching it either), but pretty much everyone I've talked to plus any online reviews I've seen have thought it was good.
Does anyone who has seen the movie notice any difference between the voice actors in the final product then from the test footage? As for the animation looking different, it is possible that they just needed to enhance it as it was in development for awhile.

The animation likely would have been higher quality than the show had it released in theaters back in the early 2000's as originally planned. From seeing how movies like The Rugrats movies and the first Spongebob Squarepants movie were compared to their TV show counterparts, it's not entirely unrealistic that the Jungle Movie would have followed suit. It's just that nowadays regular TV show animation is high quality to begin with.
