Hello everyone! I am a long-time lurker, finally feeling brave enough to post for the first time!
I would like to tell you all about my own little mystery, two games I remember vividly, but cannot remember the titles or find information about them online.
The first of these games I vaguely recall that there was a snake on the icon/shortcut. It was set inside of a dungeon and I remember that I could never get very far in the game, but I do recall finding a knife or something. I believe it may have been an "escape the room" premise with RPG elements. My computer (Dell) came with the first game and the second. I remember thinking that it had a very cool and creepy feeling. I had also posted this to some other webpages (namely reddit), but no leads have come from this.
From the digging I have done, the art style and graphics of Dungeon Master are very similar, and the gameplay was very much like Ultima Underworld (so much so that I thought I had found my game for a minute, but there were far less NPCs in my mystery game).
The other game I would like to talk about may have been a bit earlier, I recall playing it the year before preschool (so around 2000-2002). It came in a "games for girls" CD that also included other games (one of which was lemonade stand). I know it had to come out in 2002 or prior, since I had it in that year. The game, in particular, was a (2D) platformer that had the player as Little Red Riding Hood. I remember there being a fairy-godmother type figure as well. The game in itself was only a demo, but I enjoyed it anyhow. I would love to find the name of this game so I might a) play it in full b)re-discover other games included on this CD.
I hope it's not too annoying for me to be like "hey, anyone know...?", but I figured that if anyone on the net could dig this stuff up, it would definitely be the lost media community!
