Hello im new to this community and I thoght I would bring up a topic in this wiki that dosent seem to have been noticed ive been searching for the english dub of spooky kitaro 4 aprently it use to air on this channel called animax all that exists of it now is this commershal for it which ill put a link to so u can see it for yourselfs m.youtube.com/watch?v=wUTUgz_qN1s And some screenshots of the show on animax. But besides that I really cant find any other traces of its existence so I was wondering if this community would help me find this english dub.
Sorry for bumping an inactive thread, but I feel as if I've stumbled across a possible lead.
While searching for images of a particular character from Gegege no Kitaro, I stumbled across this image.
Notice the top right corner?
I'm familiar with this character, so I could tell right away this was from the fourth series. If you doubt me, you can find a brief synopsis of the episode here. What this means, keeping the watermark into consideration, is that whoever posted this image had, or has, access to this particular Animax episode of Spooky Kitaro 4.
Now comes the difficult part. I know who posted this image, but I have no way of contacting them directly. From what I can tell, they're still active online, however I can't find a way to directly ask them if they still have a copy of this episode.
Any advice as to how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to overwhelm this person with questions about an obscure anime they happened to take photos of 5+ years ago.
Update: I was able to find a way to contact the person who posted these screenshots. I’ll keep you all updated as to whether or not they respond. Fingers crossed!

He just responded. The episodes were hosted on a website like Dailymotion, but were taken down a few years back. Not sure where to go from here, but I’ll keep looking for more possible leads.
I’ve basically exhausted all possible leads when it comes to this search. My only thought now is that the dub COULD be on a private site such as MySpleen, but I don’t want to badger anyone who can access the site, considering this dub is pretty niche.
If anyone has any possible leads, please let me know.

Worth mentioning is that the ALSO applies to Spooky Kitaro 5, as both dubs are considered lost.

I don’t know if you knew about this , but it might be helpful. Someone on “MyAnimeList” created a thread discussing the Spooky Kitaro 4 English dub. They posted a video that they found. Unfortunately, it was deleted. I’m not sure if it could of been a clip or an episode of the actual dub, but could have been another bumper. You could try messaging the person, or you could bring the video back somehow. The name of the thread is “Is there a GeGeGe no Kitaro english dub?”

Thank you so much for the lead. Unfortunately, I don't think this video has been archived. I used this guide provided by another member of the forums, and came up with nothing.
I've had a hunch for awhile now that Animax has been removing videos having to do with this dub. A dead URL I'd found a few weeks back that I believe contained episodes of Spooky Kitaro 5 was just recently taken off of Google. It's very bizarre...
Again, thank you for your help. This search has been very strange, to say the least. I've known for awhile now that Animax didn't like distributing their dubs, but everything revolving this has been sort of weird.
Oh, one possible lead I should mention: It seems like some of Animax's dubs were released * albeit through third party companies * through VCDs. It happened with Cyborg Kuro-chan.
I don't think Spooky Kitaro 4/5 received this treatment, though. If it did, I haven't been able to find any copies for sale. Still, I thought it was worth mentioning, as this could be a method to find other Animax dubs/rare international dubs.

I'm going to compile a list of various bits of information I've gathered during my research into these dubs. I hope this will help anyone who decides to research them!!
*Animax only dubbed the fourth and the fifth Gegege no Kitaro anime series, thus earning their names "Spooky Kitaro 4/5".
*Someone I know used to watch these dubs as a child. He told me that he's fairly positive that Spooky Kitaro 4/5 was/were dubbed in their entirety, ie: Every single episode from the 1996 series and the 2007 series was dubbed into English. I have no way to confirm his claims, but he's a trustworthy source, as he's been cataloguing information on Gegege no Kitaro for over a decade.
*To add onto this: Character names may have been changed for the Animax dub. Again, I have no way to confirm this.
*The dub may have Cantonese/Mandarin subtitles superimposed onto it. This was the case with a clip of the English Chibi Maruko-chan Animax dub that's currently floating around. The Animax Chibi Maruko-chan dub is also currently lost media.
*Spooky Kitaro 6 is NOT a new dub. Animax hasn't made any English dubs in a long time... their current broadcast of the 2018 Gegege no Kitaro anime is only subbed.
*Animax also aired a Cantonese/Mandarin dub of the 1996 series. It's currently lost. Don't quote me on this, but there were apparently TWO Cantonese/Mandarin dubs: One where the characters have their names changed, and the other where their names are kept the same from the Japanese version. There's very little information about this online, but this webpage is a good source.
*To make things even MORE convoluted: Animax is a broadcasting station in Japan. Meaning, you'll sometimes find images of different Kitaro anime with the Animax watermark, such as this one for the 1985 series. To my knowledge, the 1985 series never received any type of English Dub. Don't be fooled: There's no "Spooky Kitaro 3".
*I don't believe the dub aired outside of Animax's regular broadcasting regions, meaning it never made it to the US/Canada. Like with almost every Animax dub, it never received any form of home video release.
*AnimeIndia was a forum made for users to post clips and episodes of Animax dubs. If you're looking for an Animax dub, you should check there, though your mileage may vary. There is a forum post by a user asking for clips of Spooky Kitaro 5, but nothing seems to have come from it. You can find it here.
*The dead URL I found containing episodes of Spooky Kitaro 5 was on pastebin. Websites similar to pastebin may come up with something... possibly mediafire, too.
This turned out to be quite long, but I hope this helps!!
