Hi! I’m new here but I’ve lurked for a while, first post! Hope I’ve put this in the right place. I didn’t really count it as ‘lost media’ so didn’t think it’d fit.
When I was a child I spent a lot of time in the hospital. The playroom there had this large games console. It used to scare me (long story) and so I never played on it while I was there. I can remember what it looked like but I’ve never been able to find a photo of it.
It was large, and a weird baby blue colour - had two handles either side of it, and had wheels so it could be pushed in and out. I don’t think anybody could actually use it in their home due to the size, makes me wonder if they were specifically for arcades or hospitals/schools and the like. The front face was curved. There was a screen on the front face, so you’d play directly with this console rather than load it up to a TV. The screen was quite small - below the screen there was two doors, which were locked, but if you asked a nurse to open them then there was an area to store games/controllers/cables. There was some writing in yellow either directly above or directly below the screen, stating the name of the console. I THINK there was a little star decal, the outline of a Star, in yellow on the console.
The controllers weren’t wireless like today’s Xbox style controllers, they had wires and I think had to be plugged into the back of the console (though may be underneath?)
The last time I saw this console I was seven-ish (I‘m now eighteen) and I’ve always assumed it was a Nintendo product, but the more I think about it, the less likely that seems? I’ve chucked a few search terms and never got any hits for it being a Nintendo product - but also, outside of hospitals, I’ve not seen this product full stop. I go between being absolutely baffled as to what it could be, and annoyed at myself for never playing it.
First post here... I’d love it if someone was able to help out, my curiosity is killing me!
