Okay this may be a long shot as im not sure if these were ever even available to buy, but i was homeschooled growing up, and we went through an online school program that provided us with school computers, some tex books, lifepac i believe the textbook brand was, anyways with the computers we had this disc game and one i believe that was downloaded but it may have been a disc too, they both focused on building stories, through a click and drag system, then an automated voice would read the text you put in the bottom you could many different items and characters in who if you clicked on them had lil sounds of their own they would make, i remember the one was very storybook looking in character design and didnt have as much as the other, it was more traditional old timey story book looking, i have no idea what that was called or if it had a disc or was downloaded, the main we used how ever was much bigger it had tons of differnt characters, actions, sounds, as a young kid i made tons and tons of stories with it, it was called story painter. It may have been by scholastic. Does anyone have any idea what im taking about?
Forgot to mention i played these games around 2004 - 2006, i believe story painter was made around 1998 - 2001 (i vaguely remember the disc) i think the disc was a simple clear ish colour with black text like the old windows 98 games had, the other game which may have been simply called story builder im not sure, i believe was older
Ooh, I feel like that game was on a school computer at some point. I seem to remember the Scholastic publisher working with The Learning Company. They also sold Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 at one point.
The graphics of that game look alot more like the second older one i was talking about, the main page music also seems familiar it might have been that or maybe a different version of it. However, the one game i KNOW was called Story Painter. I can picture the title and everything
Sometimes these older games get lost, especially with a name like that. Scholastic could have it listed in their product catalogue on the way-back machine.

I think ima make a thread for story painter in lost media.
