I’m sure we have all seen the meme where Kermit the frog jumps out of a building and kills himself because a girl said Cookie Monster was a letter in the alphabet. But, where did the clip originate from? I’m assuming from an old plush series, but who knows.

So I just compared the forty-four second video where the clip of Kermit falling off the building occurs after the little girl says "q-r-Cookie Monster" to the six second clip where it's just Kermit falling off the building.
They look to be identical with the exception of the greyscale filter and the somber piano music in the "Kermit Commits Suicide" video (the longer of our two clips).
As Furbyman said, I think that the Kermit falling off a building clip may have been a Vine snippet (or something styled after Vine's video delivery format), and it was edited into the Kermit Commits Suicide video for humor.
Of course, this may not necessarily workout in terms of the time frame these were uploaded: "Kermit Commits Suicide" was posted in April of 2016, where "Kermit falling off building" was uploaded June of 2017.
Unless the later video is actually the original Vine (if it indeed is from Vine), I'm not sure how to reconcile these two clips.
