Jest is a fairly obscure unreleased N64 game. I rarely see it mentioned, which surprises me considering how good it looks and how cool the concept of the game sounds. Always hoped out of all the unreleased games, that this would resurface. Hoping we could find this hidden gem.
Jest is a cancelled 96-megabit Nintendo 64 platform / action game that was in development by Curved Logic in 1997 and it would have been published by Ocean / Infogrames. In the game we would have played as a joker named Jax, who has to work his way up to full jesterhood. There would have been many crazy levels set in the land of Humourous, from hellish underground caverns to misty docksides, with a gameplay probably similar to Mario 64 or Rayman 2. Jest had a beautiful graphic for its time and its own style, but sadly something went wrong during the development and Curved Logic had to cancel the game, before closing down and to vanish forever. "Developed by Curved Logic, Jest has appeared at many trade events on video only. Since it is slated for release later this year, a playable version isn't out of the question." - IGN on Infogrames' E3 Lineup, 1999 (http://www.ign.com/articles/1999/03/16/infogrames-e3-lineup)
"Infogrames Entertainment announced today that it will unveil both Jest and Looney Tunes: Space Race for N64 at the upcoming annual Milia conference.
The annual European game conference is held in Cannes, France, and starts on February 9 and ends on the 12th. In addition to the exhibition of games, Infogrames chief Bruno Bonnell will lead a seminar on "Contemporary Business and Policy Trends in Interactive Entertainment". Infogrames will also be represented in a special conference on "Cartoon Animation and Video Games," partially because of its recent licensing deal with Warner Brothers.
Look for updates on both N64 titles soon." - IGN on Jest and Space Race being shown in Cannes, also 1999 (http://www.ign.com/articles/1999/02/06/jest-and-space-race-in-cannes)
Did you hear back, by any chance? Where did you find this information?
Just got an automatic message. I found the info on Bloomberg. It could be inaccurate, considering the fact that Foundation 9 closed down in 2016 while it still says it exists.
