Hello! I'm GoosebumpsArt. For months, I've been doing research about the lost Goosebumps Series 2000 book; the 26th book in the series, commonly known as "The Incredible Shrinking Fifth Grader", was cancelled during production late in the year 1999. If you want to hear more about this book, you can read the article that I linked above. I was flattered to find that the article also mentioned my username!
However, the article is a little outdated... Because I recently found the book! ...Well, sort of.
I contacted illustrator Tim Jacobus back in March 2017, and he shared the unreleased artwork! It was around this time that I found out that R.L. Stine published an independent book in the year 2000 called "The Adventures of Shrinkman". I searched through Google, and I couldn't find a single person who made the connection before me. Recently, I managed to get in contact with R.L. Stine himself, and he confirmed that the lost Goosebumps Series 2000 book turned into The Adventures of Shrinkman.
I plan on updating the Lost Media Wiki article soon, but I'm uncertain of one thing: do we consider the book found or partially found? Towards the end of The Adventures of Shrinkman, there is a scene where the fifth grade protagonist fends off a white lab mouse with a pencil, which is exactly what was depicted on the unused cover that Jacobus sent me in March! This proves that the plots were closely related. With that in mind, should the book be considered found? Personally, I believe we've found all we could ever hope to find in regards to this book.
