The Big Story is a TV series that ran from 1950-1955 and was based on the radio series of the same name. The radio version used a somewhat cloying narration that was abandoned for the TV series, which stayed true to the radio series otherwise. Some of the episodes were based on the radio scripts, one of which was called "The Boy Who Was Lost to Society" in the radio version and simply "Frank Mason" in the TV version.
This episode was about Frank Mason, a reporter who watched a woman teach a boy how to steal and had her arrested for theft. The boy believed the woman was his mother; the episode was about the search for the boy's family. Eventually, after a long search, the boy's foster parents were found and he was sent back to live with them at their home. The episode (both versions) was a dramatization of an actual story as it unfolded in real life.
Seven or eight episodes of this series are available in YouTube, but not either version of this episode.
